OK, desoldering worth it's work. Apart from the one broken conductor line on IC 2, I was also able to discover a broken 7400N and a defective 74107N with the incredibly practical #RCT. This is one of the most useful tools in my equipment. Two other identical types were tested as good. And as it must be, I haven't any replacement in the moment. But it is ordered.

Just brought my #RetroChipTester back to life. Flashing the new firmware version 0.27 with a USBAsp went so wrong. After that, the device was simply dead. But that's what it said in the manual, it can work but usually doesn't.
It just came back to life with a €20 ISP programmer from diamex.

Tomorrow the #RetroChipTester #RCT will have it's first bigger mission. I'll check the TTLs and RAMs of our #IMSAI8080 clone. But I'm afraid it's the processor at the end, because the address bus behaves strangely in SingleStep mode.

A great start into the morning. I've just finished the last soldering work on the large components and the first switch-on looks promising. The #RCT #RetroChipTester starts with its switch-on message, the power LEDs of the DC module are ok and the self-test runs OK too.

Time consuming part is done and after 83 resistors and 32 diodes (230 solder pins) later the #RCT #RetroChipTester gets a face. I hope I'm keep going on, as we are going out to eat tonight.

I first started assembling the small part. The big #RCT #RetroChipTester board is on the agenda for tomorrow. This will definitely be a lot more complicated with that number of parts. But probably just as easy to solder.

As practical as the digikey delivery is sorted in the individual bags, it is very tiring to separate the parts from it. Especially if you ordered for two persons. I've finished sorting the parts for the #RCT #RetroChipTester and think I'll get to some soldering this weekend.

I use the early morning for working me through the bill of materials #BOM for the famous #RetroChipTester. It tests several RAM types, so I want to give it a try at the daily museums work. The inventor has selled them at the #HNF and gave a nice overview in a lecture. I've watched some introduction videos about it and there's no harm in the device.
