@faduda No, the worst part is that, as with Brexit, commentators are blaming the government for the vote.

And, like Brexit, no politician was allowed in the voting booth with you. It's a secret ballot. We have laws saying "not within 50m of a polling booth or you go to prison for up to two years".

Which means that the fault for the vote lies with the electorate, not the politicians. WE were just racist/sexist/lazy enough to vote for Eamon DeVelera over the modern world.

I was so terrified of them and the shit they'd pull, I made a living will that I updated every time I went in to surgery stating that my partner was aware of my wishes and that under no circumstances were they allowed have custody of my kids, but then they still had more legal rights than him #Ref24 #mastodaoine

I was really hoping for a yes/no because article 40 was a poison apple but article 39 would prevent some of the pain I've seen caused when life happens to cohabiting couples and they realise how fragile their rights are. I was so terrified my estranged family would ignore my wishes/my partner and bury me with them that I changed religion just so I wouldn't be allowed in the family plot. #mastodaoine #ref24
