Really impressed by the work from the Quantum Village team 👇

#QuantumVillage is a global, community-driven initiative bridging quantum tech, cybersecurity, and open hardware—making quantum tools accessible beyond big labs.

Their latest project shows this vision in action:

An open-source quantum random number generator (“Entropy Loop”) for ~$35, built with off-the-shelf parts . It uses quantum fluctuations in a laser diode to generate true randomness for cryptography.

• Lower the barrier to quantum tech
• Fully open-source
• Brings real quantum entropy to devs & researchers

A glimpse of “garage quantum” becoming real.

How to bring quantum computer parts to DEFCON

Starting to show up in Hacker Tracker so time to share: colleague and I are giving a talk on how trapped-ion quantum computers work @ Quantum Village @ DEFCON 32. I'm also bringing one of IonQ's quantum control systems chassis to display at QV.

Planning to attend #QuantumVillage at #defcon31 this week but don't have time to catch up on all the news since last summer? I have compiled a list of resources to get you up to speed with interesting use cases, white papers, and other resources.
