Lately i am thinking of Thorstein Veblen's Theory of the Leisure Class that I read some time ago. I might want to read it again. Originally written around the age of the so called "robber barons" (with so many similarities with today). I remember, but barely, one of his theories about a predatorial powerful class and a majority of rather peaceful people. There was also another theory about the mimicry of the powerful by the middle classes...
Wondering how it would read this days.
