My first Linux distro was Red Hat Linux 6.1 my mom bought as a Christmas present in 1999.

Trying to get that thing online was a challenge for a 13 year boy but I persevered and managed to figure out how PPPD works. It was clearly written by hackers for hackers back then and very unforgiving:

I have all the “snowballing” conditions- first, #Parkinsons , with its exercise requirements, and I rapidly decline when I’m unable to do so. Then the #PPPD , which makes it hard to get out & exercise, which adds to my #depression. Now #CDiff , which is both difficult to manage, has a poor cure rate, impairs my self care routine.
Although I’ve brought all this to the attention of my family, I wonder if I have to wake up dead some morning to be taken seriously. #disability.
