As far as I can tell, the amount of energy required to generate one “AI image” [sic] is about equivalent to 20 seconds of gaming on a mid-range rig(*).
So huuundreds of hours dropped on this would equate to thousands of AI images.
Something for some in the #pioutocracy to consider.

One additional observation for many of the #Pioutocracy, it seems that generating one image using a system like ChatGPT probably uses about as much energy as 20 seconds of gaming.

to describe the Holier Than Thou gallery who sneeringly apply purity tests typically on the basis of insufficient and inadequate understanding of the topic on which they're commenting.
