Alan K. MartinezI guess a 12 year old #thinkpad x131e might not be the best to configure for #pfSenseCE if it's not going to be stable enough to hose the web interface consistently... I can't for the life of me figure out what or why it won't and just either 502 or 504 timeout. I can't keep restarting the webconfigurator and PHP every 5 or 10 minutes just to see if it's up and running correctly from a remote location...
I guess I better break down and purchase an alternative option... I was hoping to keep this cheap and repurpose some older hardware I thought was still good for this...

Short service toot for anyone interested: #pfSense released a new version of #pfSenseCE 2.7 based on #FreeBSD 14 like the plus-23.x releases. After the release of #pfSensePlus 23.01 it became clear that a few more patches were necessary so CE was pushed back a bit to release after the patch release 23.05 and that was a good decision.
Yesterday together with the new CE release also came a bugfix release for #pfSensePlus 23.05.1

Kurzer Hinweis an alle Interessierten: #pfsense hat nun für #pfSenseCE (wie vorausgesagt) die Version 2.7 auf Basis von #FreeBSD 14 abgeliefert nachdem es nach dem Release von #pfSensePlus 23.01 noch einigen Bedarf an Fixes gab und man bis zum Release der 23.05 gewartet hatte. Besser war das auch! Gleichzeitig kam dann auch nochmal ein kleines Plus Bugfix Release: #pfSensePlus 23.05.1 Damit sind die beiden Versionen bis auf einige wenige Features wieder auf dem selben Stand. Wie vorhergesagt.

@ponym bei mir läufts bis jetzt echt gut. Bin auch von der single NIC Performance sehr überrascht. #pfSenseCE bietet aber für mich als Hobby Netzwerker eigentlich zu viel.
