71. Drop veil windshirt. I learned on my shakedown hike that I was missing a wind layer for hiking. A lot of people just use their rain jacket, but IMO mine (Frogg Toggs emergency) is too fragile for everyday use, so I got this. It's still only 7.2 oz total for the pair, which is plenty light

70. More from Putney Woods where I've been doing most of my PCT training over the past few weeks. Penciled in the woods, but it was too cold to do the whole thing there.

53. Sleeping bag/quilt. Feathered Friends Flicker UL 30. One of my favorite pieces of gear. It's warm for the rating, but it's also easy to fully open up if the weather is hot.

52. Generic acrylic beanie. 2.5 oz, has held up for years in all weather without pilling. Also, it's red, signifying that I am a fan of vintage scuba diving documentaries, the Futura typeface, and not being shot during hunting season.

51. Thermarest Z Lite Sol, cut down to 8 panels. I might change my mind after a few weeks, but I don't particularly like sleeping on air mattresses.

48. Sunglasses. I need to wear glasses, and there is a lot of sun outside in California.

47. Carhartt Buffalo cap. I kinda hate baseball caps, but I need a hat for the desert and it pairs nicely with the sun hoody. Took the logo off because I don't want to wear someone's logo on my forehead.
