The school closed in 1963, and lay empty between 1990 and 2016. During this time it was considered as being at risk of being lost.
It was refurbished between 2016 and 2018, and is now used as a community space, making this another great example of how an empty at-risk historic building can be saved and brought back into use.

Parkhead Public School in Glasgow. Built in two phases starting in 1878. Probably designed by Hugh H Maclure. The bell tower in this building is just stunning.
