Juki Baby Lock BL3-438
My latest acquisition is another Baby Lock serger. The other one is at home in Tokyo, so I wanted an additional one to use here in Osaka. I was lucky to find this one on an online auction for very little, but in excellent condition. It arrived just last week!
It is practically identical to my BL3-500, with the exact same parts, so if ever either one of them breaks, I'll be able to use the other one for parts.

Juki Baby Lock BL3-500
I got this little overlock machine or "serger" a couple of years after I started making jeans.
The first Baby Lock model was developed in 1967 as a small domestic version of industrial overlock machines. It was a huge hit, and a great number of models were subsequently released. This one is from the early 90s.
The plastic body has turned quite yellowish, but it still sews as well as when I first got it. Pics 2 through 4 are from 2000, when it still had its original color.
