Regina Christiansen analyses outcome-driven moral justification in Philosophical Psychology's open access article, https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/09515089.2026.2681783#abstract

"Under emotional and normative pressure, moral reasoning can reorganize itself in ways that are internally coherent yet ethically shallow... In this way, favorable outcomes confer apparent moral legitimacy, stabilizing agent's moral self-understanding without fully engaging the underlying ethical tensions... Outcome-driven justification can produce the appearance of moral coherence, offering reasssurance, yet it risks bypassing the reflection necessary for deeper ethical understanding."
