An Austrian fiber optics (FTTH) company is building an open access network with multiple smaller providers to select from.
I contacted the email address of eight of them on Saturday asking about the IPv4 address customers are receiving and the state of IPv6 support.
Today at 9 in the morning I received the first two phone calls and one email.
After dealing with abysmal customer support by the biggest providers in Austria for 25 years I'm still in shock.
Some fine day, my Internet traffic will go through this fiber!

Until then, it'll be an annoying process to get it from the street into my cellar. If they would have contacted me a few months earlier when we were digging cable tunnels for the PV anyway... 😞

#ÖGIG beschließt endlich, die Gegend mit #Glasfaser zu erschließen und bietet >20 Anbieter auf ihrer Faser. Danach kommt A1 und lässt ihre Vertreter den Menschen an ihren Türen mit wirklich grenzwertigen Argumenten erklären, dass ihre drei Anbieter so viel besser sind und überredet tatsächlich etliche, von ihrem ÖGIG-Vertrag zurückzutreten. Das ist keine Praxis, die ich unterstützen kann. Freier Markt hin oder her. 😠
