vendors mitigate many LLM issues with custom API for certain features (that suppose to be a model feature). Excellent example of selling solution to the problem they create #notepadexe
dealing with a small local LLM model is pretty annoying. Many features available otherwise via vendor http API is unavailable, and I have to "prompt it to death" for results.
I came up with a custom function calling scheme. Tool calling is all prompt-based. It's not perfect yet, but the results are promising.
In this example, the model reads the content of the file using a tool, properly understands the response, and modifies the content using another tool.
