My name is Carlota, I am a 27 yo portuguese girl who moved to the Netherlands two years ago and fell in love with Noord from the first moment I saw it. In the time I lived here I have biked many times through De Tanker and always thought "What a cool place this is, it would be so nice do make something fun and creative here". I am a IT consultant by profession but a music lover by heart, over the past years I have tried out new things including Djing and, like Noord, it was love at first sight. After business hours I spend a lot of my time searching for new sounds and trying to find myself in them, I have been lucky to find a small group of like minded people who also happen to share the same affinity for music and for Noord. We then decided to create a small collective where we are able to express ourselves through music. Eventually our group had some additions of people who were creative in other ways, photography and video, and we have created a nice small community between us. This is why I am reaching out to you, we would love to have the opportunity to celebrate this collective at De Tanker and collaborate together in our first joint project where we plan to combine all our passions, some people will play vinyl, other digital music, while others will film and photograph. We are then interested in knowing if this creative initiative could have a place in your agenda. It would be a private event with a small group of people who are brought together to collaborate in one project that will mark the launch of our collective.

Wij als Roofless willen een intieme, community-gedreven culturele avond organiseren, waarin muziek, kunst en ontmoeting centraal staan. Het programma bestaat uit lokale DJ’s en muzikanten, verkoop van kunst door Amsterdamse makers, geprojecteerde visuals en ruimte voor interactie tussen bezoekers. Daarnaast verzorgen we duurzame catering (mogelijk dmv een vegan BBQ) en onderzoeken we een fondsenwervend element ter ondersteuning van De Roze Tanker/ een lokaal goed doel dat we graag samen met jullie uitkiezen. We bieden graag tickets aan van 5 euro om het toegankelijk te houden, en halen de meeste winst voor het goede doel uit de verkoop van kunst/catering.

Afterglow Audio - Winter Gathering

Hello this is Fraser! I am one of the team members of the team of View of Point - a gathering we were lucky enough to organise at the Roze Tanker back in February 7th! Milan was the contact person however. This event is not a View of Point, but will be organised and carried out with the same ethos and ideals - supporting DIY culture and community space, encourage true human and authentic human connection and encouraging openness and kindness. Afterglow Audio is another collective I am a part of - a music and writing collective which focusses on story telling through music through our blog. We also organised community-focussed gathering occasionally to try to create meaningful musical, dance or listening experiences. This event we are proposing is an intimate dance-focussed gathering, bringing people together under the DIY spirit and aiming to create a moment of warmth and connection amid the start of winter. It will have a strict no phone policy, so that people are more present! This event will look and feel very similar to the View of Point gathering and will have a similar crowd of friendly people!
