Highlights from the main #NFSd merge for #Linux 6.17[1]:

""NFSD is finally able to offer write delegations to clients that open files with O_WRONLY, thanks to patches from Dai Ngo. We're expecting this to accelerate a few interesting corner cases.

The cap on the number of operations per NFSv4 COMPOUND has been lifted.[…]

This release re-enables the ability for NFSD to perform NFSv4.2 COPY operations asynchronously. […]""

#macOS experts – does anyone know how to enable #nfsd logs in #macos14sonoma (14.3.1)? I'm trying to export a dir to my NeXTstation (running OpenSTEP 4.2) and all I get is "mount: access denied for host:/Users" but no log entries. I tried to add entries to /etc/asl.conf (see below) and also a separate file in /etc/asl/ but can't see any log output. UDP should be enabled, showmount -e shows the directory being exported.

# nfsd
? [= Sender nfsd] file nfsd.log
? [<= Level notice] file nfsd.log
