I know it's meant to be interpreted by the reader, but what's your "official" (author's version) intended to imply ending for Psalms Of The Flesh? I'm the reader who left a comment in December last year and another thought crossed my mind while re-reading it recently that another possible ending implied could be that Donqui disappears because she gets impregnated. I somehow feel like that's more likely to be what the last para implies, but I'm not sure. Either way, I really like that even if there is a "official" ending that we're still free to interpret it how we like. But just curious.

So yes, I did reply that I left it to be interpreted by the reader, and I wouldn't say what was my "official" ending. I am absolutely sorry to say, with no pettiness, that I'm still keeping to that. I know that's not a very fun answer and there's this burning need for Word of God for whichever reason you want, but...the thing is, some stories are just like that. I don't do much "open-ended" stories, but when I've done them, I *want* the readers to have fun trying to figure out what happened. I know the frustration though--I have some of my favorite stories where I'm just yelling at the page BUT WHA HAPPEN THO (me looking at Brian K Vaughn), but the discussions I've had with people and friends is also a lot more fun, in piecing together the pieces. So I want to "re-gift" that in return. So in your case, if you think another possibility is that Quixote disappears because she gets pregnant, sure! I can see how my writing led to that, haha. That actually would be pretty compelling... TL;DR: I have an official ending, but I still won't be saying it. I know it's frustrating and I hope that doesn't dampen your enjoyment of the story, but I do like seeing theories and you should have fun matching it to what you like!
