Man, am I tired. After getting braids running on Peach (hacked) we (Felix from WGD) found a bug in Chambord, our sampler. Then, MMM arrived in the mail ... I've posted a little update: https://poetaster.org/news/2025-06-13/ There's an audio snippit .... #DIY #MutableInstruments #pipico2 A really big thanks to Niek and to the #RaspberryPi folk for all these years of great little machines!
This is a bit of a hack, but a profitable one. Just as with toepler+ I'm reusing an existing hardware design to see how far I can take braids on it: https://wgdmodular.de/module/peach/ ... supposed to have a XIAO RA4M1 attached to it. Pin compatible with an adafruit QTPY RP2040:) Had one of those lying around. Felix from WGD sent me a set of boards and now braids runs on Peach :) https://poetaster.org/media/peach_braids.mp3 #DIY #Eurorack #MutableInstruments

Ah. Niek posted a short update testing my Braids port on toepler+ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MW-oU7pw3k
#Eurorack #MutableInstruments still a lot of kinks to work out, but it's getting there :)

Not sure what to do with #MutableInstruments Tides. I just built a 2 channel 22 wave form lfo that makes me happy. But, here is yet another crappy video showing tides on scarp... #DIY #Arduino

Quick note on PWM. I did tests running braids on the RP2040 at 96kHz. It has interesting qualities but is still a disadvantage. 48kHz really is fine!

More exciting: I obtained a2350. Oh boy is that nice. FPU makes all the difference for floating point heavy code like the #MutableInstruments code. #RP2350 #DIY It's worth the money (6 euros).

I finally got around to making a more or less generic sketch to demonstrate the #MutableInstruments Braids port to arduino. It's at https://github.com/poetaster/arduinoMI/tree/main/BraidsEngines with minimal instructions in the Repo #README It's a real challenge getting decent audio output but Braids is nice and rings is nice. Plaits is still a bit bitchy, but, somewhat usable :) here is an example of what usable means (abusing FM)

Ok. Release early. Release often. Document while lounging on a beach in Belize. For those 17 of you out there that have a scarp, I've published a binary you can just copy to the scarp and have a look at playing (in all the modes and roots!) MI braids ported to arduino (for the rp2040). https://github.com/poetaster/arduinoMI/releases #MutableInstruments #Arduino

@poetaster well after a mixed bag of failure and success (gardens, gas heating, solder) ... I need a kick. So I ported MI braids, again with much aid from Volker Boehm. https://github.com/poetaster/arduinoMI #MutableInstruments #DIY #RP2040 ... All's well in the world and this one should run anywhere. Clean up and docs next week... The tides, elements, clouds !!!!!

For some time I've wanted to port the #MutableInstruments code to #Arduino. For the rp2040 ... Recently, I discovered Volker Boehm , https://vboehm.net had done a #SuperCollider port. No excuses. I've got plaits running on my scarp. It's evil, but works. Code at https://github.com/poetaster/arduinoMI ... So far only runs on scarp for some obscure timing reason
