Today’s listening is ‘Diamonds In The Zodiac’, the 2024 album by Midnight North.
A great album of modern Americana this, featuring many members of The Grateful Dead’s extended musical family, such as Grahame Lesh (son of Phil Lesh, who also plays on the album), Amy Helm (daughter of Levon Helm) and Jason Crosby (NOT the son of David Crosby!!).
Plus of course the wonderful voice of Elliott Peck!
Today’s listening is ‘End Of The Night’, the 2013 album by Midnight North.
This was the debut album by Midnight North and their signature west-coast country-rock, with a touch of folk, style was already pretty well formed.
Vocal duties shared between Grahame Lesh and Elliott Peck as usual, this is an enjoyable album, though understandably not quite as good as their later records.
The album was a limited release of only 300 copies on coloured vinyl.
Today’s listening is ‘There’s Always A Story’, the 2021 album by Midnight North.
This is an enjoyable selection of tunes from Midnight North-a band who’s members include Grahame Lesh (the son of Phil Lesh from the Grateful Dead) and Elliott Peck, who has a wonderful singing voice.
The album is nicely packaged too, in a linen ‘tip-on’ sleeve (which is a technique where the cover art is printed on paper which is then wrapped around a sturdy board album sleeve).
Had a nice chat with Raul from @bassmusicianmag - full video interview link in bio - we talked @midnightnorth, bass gear, touring, Unicorn Heads, and more!

Interview With Bassist Connor O’Sullivan… It is always fun to learn more about music happening in specific parts of the country. In the Bay Area, Midnight North has been making its sonic footprint in the Alternative Rock / Americana arena since about 2012. Connor O’Sullivan is the bass player who holds down the low end […]
Today’s listening is ‘Under The Lights’, the 2017 album by Midnight North.
This is an enjoyable album of up tempo country-rock style tunes, with great vocals from the terrific Elliott Peck and Grahame Lesh (who is the son of Phil Lesh from The Grateful Dead).
My favourite tracks are ‘Everyday’ and ‘Roamin’’.
Well worth a listen!
