Finally finished #WonderMan. I loved it so much.

I love how consistently #metafictional it is: Simon's relationship to the "original" movie, the remake, the parallel plots, Trevor turning "back" into the Mandarin.

The writing, directing, acting, the music. It all *fits* to make this wonderful, weird commentary on fame, on Hollywood, on acting. So much to say about acting!

Absolutely wonderful.

Ha.

Pun unintended, but I'm leaving it.

“I have always felt a curious attraction in romances of detection – a species of popular fiction which bears much the same relation to the world of actual crime as does pastoral poetry to the realities of rural economy –(…)” – I really like this #metafictional musings Innes let’s his protagonists do. (It’s really interesting to see which crime writer does it and who doesn’t. #Christie does it a lot, Sayers never does it, even if Harriet Vane is a writer.)
