The setting and atmosphere of Messiah of Evil reminds me of Dead and Buried (1981) and Tombs of the Blind Dead (1972) / Night of the Seagulls (1975).
Didn’t see Thom die because the Shudder app popped up an error.
I think I would have enjoyed that film better if it wasn't late at night on a Friday. I'm a bit tired for a slow burn.
