#記香港人｜「某將至的敏感日子」：六四舞台劇《5月35日》首以英語在倫敦公演｜在英國的五月三十五日🕯️

英國踏入五月，天氣和暖，亦令人再一次回憶﹐那場「北京春夏之交的風波」，原來事件距今也有三十五個寒暑。列明慧帶著「六四舞台」來到英國，想重新出發，卻遇上香港廿三條立法，無論招募幕前或幕後，困難重重。

在中學時代因為一首詩開始關心六四的英國導演Kim Pearce，就在這個時候，與列明慧一拍即合，共同創造《五月三十五日》英文版 — May 35th, 台前幕後的工作，陸續開展。在倫敦和暖的春夏之交，在泰晤士河南岸的小劇場，May 35th的工作人員都希望，公演能夠喚醒更多人認識，一段被設法忘記的歷史。

反送中運動の初期、2019年に香港で初演を迎えた舞台劇『5月35日』は、1989年から数十年を経た「天安門の父母」の姿を中心に据え、追悼と民主運動の継承を喚起する。

国安法施行、『国恥の柱』撤去、六四追悼行事参加者の弾圧という情勢の中で香港での上演が事実上不可能となったいま、ロンドンや台湾などで上演され続けています。
日本では劇団「Pカンパニー」によって2022年に初演されました。
今年の上演情報は無く、残念です。劇場で鑑賞した人からは素晴らしい作品であったとの感想を聞いています。

📢1989年から35年を経た8964天安門追悼イベントとして、『5月35日』日本上演版のDVD上映を企画しています。
5/24金曜夜。

On this day,🕯️#May35th #1989🕯️, when absolutely nothing happened in #TianAnMen and the #Chinese subjects under #CCP rule aren't allowed to know or even think about it, it's worth remembering that the #dictatorship was still *completely* dependent on technology and investment from #democracies around the world to reach some semblance of *material* modernity.

A powerful, arrogant and belligerent dictatorship wasn't an inevitability.

It was made possible by countless bankers and industrialists from developed democracies...

Indeed, soon after that totally uneventful early June weekend in 1989, foreign trade delegations were tripping over each other to kowtow the never-elected CCP despots who've never even harmed a fly or small four-legged mammals, let alone peaceful and defenseless civilians merely asking for civil rights and representation.

As a conscientious individual I will do my best to steer clear of any brand or company empowering #despotism. #PRC #china and #russia want to crush liberal democracy worldwide so why on earth would I help fund that??
