As a business landscape, podcasting (like all media landscapes, I suppose), is a bleak and hateful attention economy devaluing creators and busy hoisting itself on its own advertising petard.
BUT! there are bright spots, one being the #MaximumFun network, a worker-owned, listener supported co-op encompassing a lot of very good artist owned podcasts.
