Monoka@fediversereport The count of 10mio is incorrect IMHO. I remember when Gab joined #Mastodon with roughly 1.1m accounts the count of @mastodonusercount went up by this number. When #Gab defederated, the count never went down. This means Gab is still counted by #mastodonusercount I assume that it also still counts other disfunct instances as well.
Blake LeonardThe original @mastodonusercount #mastodonusercount was removed in the transition of bitcoinhackers.org to all become users of #Nostr. A new account, using the code of the original but likely not maintained by the same person, is at @mastodonusercount I believe.

edit: I lied, it is maintained (or at least endorsed) by whoever ran the account before. I didn't notice but Fosstodon says it's been redirected.
