I stumbled upon this Audacity 4 preview video on YouTube that I found informative - it has a good UI / UX discussion on changes from Audacity 3 that can also apply to other AppDev.

Audacity 4 is expected to drop in 2026 with a new logo and ongoing minor version updates until it achieves feature parity with Audacity 3. Audacity 5 will contain a new audio engine.

Schwabe Digital HiFal ist ein Limiter, der auf die Bearbeitung hoher Frequenzen optimiert ist und auf dem Schneiden von Vinyl basiert.

Mit HiFal veröffentlichen Schwabe Digital einen auf die Bearbeitung von Hochtonbereichen spezialisierten Limiter. HiFal steht für High Frequency Acceleration Limiter – eine Art des Limiting, die beim Schneiden von Vinyl eingesetzt wurde. Dessen Aufgabe war es, hochfrequente Anteile und Transienten zu zähmen. Da dadurch der Schneidestichel zudem vor Überhitzung geschützt wurde, konnten Cutter lautere Vinylplatten fertigen, die gleichzeitig weniger verzerrten.
