In the past year I've been evaluating newsletter management solutions to pair with a #Drupal platform that I've been working on.

I need a self-hosted solution and I've been hearing some really good things about #Mautic. I went straight to it since both Drupal and Mautic are Symfony based applications and I liked the idea of being able to customize it to suit my needs better.

Mautic is impressive, but I decided that it's overkill if all you want to do is manage a mailing list and send newsletters. The amount of effort it takes from installing it to sending out your first bare bones newsletter is enormous.

Instead I'm going to go with #MailCoach, which was recommended to me a year ago by @michael. MailCoach is beautifully designed, is easy to use, and was a breeze to setup.

Mautic is a fully qualified Marketing Automation Suite. If you're not sure what that means, it's definitely too much solution for you.

πŸ”„ Under the hood: Creates unique key pairs - public key stored in Laravel database, private key in password manager
#WordPress and #Mailcoach people: I have installed the Mailcoach plugin, connected it, and created a form for one of my lists. However, when I try to actually submit the form to subscribe, I get a 404 on the Mailcoach end. What am I doing wrong?

Working on a scope for a hybrid @statamic and #laravel site, and take advantage of Eloquent, @duncanmcclean’s Runway… and maybe #inertiajs or potentially #livewire - haven’t decided which fits better for this project.

Oh and some integration with #stripe with Laravel Cashier, plus #MailCoach for some email marketing too.

But wowee I was on the hunt for a neat little project and this is it!

One of my first tasks at Spatie was to add some extra webhook related features to Mailcoach. You can read about it here: https://mailcoach.app/blog/21-configure-when-to-call-your-webhook-and-view-a-log-of-all-calls #mailcoach #programming #laravel

Mailcoach

@michael oh wow, #Mailcoach is fantastic. It's going to make this a difficult choice. It's clean, easy to use, and just works right out of the box. The same can't be said for #Mautic.

I'm torn because I'll be integrating with a #Drupal based system so I'd rather keep my assets on Syfony based platforms in case I need to do some customization.

Mautic is on Symfony and MailCoach is on Laravel.
