He was there in the neighbor's driveway, the neighbor told me his mom had been hit by a car. I asked if she was going to take him in and she said she was allergic to cats.
I'd previously had apprehensions about adopting a cat, having never had a pet before. But on that day, it just didn't matter for some reason.
I just scooped him up and took him home.
This was April 2002. He lived until January 2023.
