This screenshot from a recent staff preso summarizes counts taken by the county at seven intersections in Alameda, conducted every 2 years between 2016 and 2022. Staff believes the impressive 57% increase of bicyclists is due predominantly to the opening of the Cross Alameda Trail along Appezzato, where two of the count sites are located. They also saw increases in walking at those two sites, but those increases were offset by pedestrian decreases at other intersections, lowering the total pedestrian count.
Imagine what these counts will look like once the Cross Alameda Trail is complete!
Imagine the mode shift we’ll see when our Low Stress Network is complete!
