Looks like my #LogitechG29 Wheel didn't work in @pop_os_official out of the box; needed some udev rules setup. Easiest way was to install https://github.com/berarma/oversteer, replacing `python-gi-cairo` with `python3-gi-cairo` in the instructions for Debian.

In fact, the udev rules can probably be copied to `/usr/local/lib/udev/rules.d`, but #oversteer is a useful tool to have with supported wheels.

I splurged on a racing wheel for my playstation recently (a #LogitechG29) and I've probably only spent two hours in #GranTurismo7 with it.

Great for immersion, but not for lap times. I'm having to learn to drive all over again.

I bought a 6 spd shifter too, it's an order of magnitude more difficult to get right.

After half an hour of not going anywhere very quickly (it's impossible to catch a slide) I've had to turn all the assists back on, just so I can complete a lap without spinning.

@mxhdroom I understand that you're in Canada?.. We used to race with @groovestomp quite a lot (and regularry) before the war started.

It has knocked me out of the hobby saddle for a while (I was spending most of the time contributing to the Ukrainian cyber-resistance).

What I like about teaming up for digital #RBR rallies is that we can prepare for events asynchronously and take the events one evening (one rally leg at a time). So certainly, think about it. I race from a normal IKEA desk with #LogitechG29 and cardboard boxes pinning my chair in place. I think I spent a grand total of 130 EUR on the "rig". :D

Oversteer is an open source GUI application to configure steering wheels on Linux

Came upon this software whilst trying to resolve an issue with my Logitech G29 racing wheel. It currently supports many Logitech wheels, but also soon Thrustmaster and FANATEC wheels.
There is quite a bit of fine-tuning you can do, and saving different profiles, means being able to recall them at the start of different games as needed.
