The Linked Web Storage Working Group has published the following four First Public Working Drafts: LWS 1.0 Authentication Suite: OpenID Connect, LWS 1.0 Authentication Suite: SAML 2.0, LWS 1.0 Authentication Suite, and LWS 1.0 Authentication Suite.

These enable LWS applications to integrate with OpenID providers, with SAML 2.0 identity providers and clients that are able to sign their own identity tokens.

The mission of the Linked Web Storage Working Group is to enable the development of web applications where data storage, entity authentication, access control, and application provider are all loosely coupled, as opposed to the web of today where these are typically all tightly coupled and changing one requires changing all, sometimes at the price of all past data
