What happens to a limo deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore-
and then rust?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load

Or does it explode?

Apparently it does none of those things, instead lying forgotten in a suburban driveway, slowly moulding. Recalling bygone homecoming parties, proms, executive functions - excursions that once filled it with purpose.
