I found 'The Judas Rose' by Suzette Haden Elgin an enjoyable read, but it didn't set my world on fire as a novel. It's the sequel to 'Native Tongue', which is hugely important to anyone interested in the intersection between fiction and language construction, or feminism in SF, and it explores some very interesting ideas.

Mark Rosenfelder's 'Syntax Construction Kit' is an accessible introduction to some pretty difficult linguistics. If you want to get started with conlanging you should get his other books, but if you've been wondering what Noam Chomsky is famous for, this is the one!

For any of you out there interested in #conlangs or #languageConstruction, I just made a new post about verb stacking for a simpler tense system. It's such a niche topic that I held back from emailing this one out, but I do hope you'll give it a read even if you're not into #linguistics. I try to make posts like this accessible for the absolute beginner because I remember being one of those myself.
