Just like the old Viking trade routes that led to the formation of the culture that is now falsely claimed as ”Russian” by Moscow.

I guess one of biggest historical sources of butthurt for today ruzzians - in the Tale of Bygone Years the first words are saying that this story tells "where Rusian land comes from" if translated to English. "откуда земля руская пошла быть", and considering that this chronicle were written in Kyiv, it is about Kiyvian Rus, not that imperial construct of "Russia" created at Peter I many centuries later.
