This hat is not cooperating. First, I got confused over how many stitches to cast on, so I frogged it and started again. After checking carefully, I discovered that I was right the first time (oops). When I started the decreases I discovered that I hadn't done the pattern correctly. It looked okay, so I just kept going. I tried it on the head it will keep warm, and it is too small. Okay, frog again and start over! I'd just finish it but this is my last ball of stripey worsted weight wool. Every other ball of wool is boring, I'm told. Take 3!
I've knit enough top-down hats pattern-free that I figured I could do it again but somehow totally biffed it!! During game night last night, mid-knitting, I tried it on Greg's head and it looked awful, like it had a big boob on top (Greg and Ben simultaneously, "And...?" 😂). I think I'm not increasing fast enough? A friend suggested a pattern with 8 rounds of increases before any knit rounds. I'm gonna try again today. Thoughts from knitter folk?
