I'm watering my plants and I noticed the leaves on one of my plants changed. Remember, I failed to label all of my seedlings, and a lot of them died, so I have no idea what I'm growing unless I know the plant. I know what I ordered, but now I'm just chaos growing in my container garden.

Unknown plant was just being cared for with all the love I could give it, just because it lived. Be green little fella. Today it grew a "mature" leaf. I though since it was already creeping along the pot it was mature. I was wrong and the mature leaf looks like mint.

I'm so happy that it lived!! Everyone says mint is super easy to grow, and hard to get rid of. I've had the worst luck with mint. I went through three packets of mint seeds and even broke down and rescued some from the supermarket.
Nothing was thriving. I hope it flowers.

Anyway I'm really happy about that.

Still unsuccessfully plugging away at my garden. I have a rogue poppy, a rogue geranium, no echinacea, no lavender, no sage, no cilantro. I don't even have gomphrena even though I got seedlings to sprout three times. I'm gonna make them happen I swear.

All I have are the plants I've always had, and the random alyssum I bought from the hardware store on a whim and three of nine lettuce. Oh and the grocery store mint I saved because my grow anywhere mint didn't survive.

I have more seeds here, so I'm gonna keep trying. Something will grow here. I've ordered native to the region seeds which I will pick up this weekend.

The only time I can't grow anything is during the rainy season, when everything should be established. My goal now is to get anything to that point so it doesnt die between February and April.

I should have stuck to houseplants.

Solidarity with the mint issues. Every time I try mint it dies. I'd love to find something that will just take off like people say mint does, but, alas, the closest I have is a valerian plant that unexpectedly actually grew as tall as the label claimed it might.

#justiceformint indeed

Was on Tumblr watching the reddit migration, and complaining about my seedlings dying when I saw someone once again making mint jokes.

Well, I planted mint and it's dying. Everyone is like mint will grow anywhere. It's not, I swear it's not, and I'm really good with plants.

As far as updates on my seedlings goes: the poppies died because they got the white fuzz. I have two out of ten chinese lanterns growing, and they don't look good. The gomprena seems okay. None of the sage, lavender, sedum, or coral bells made it. I have some free lettuce that seems determined to thrive, and I'm fine with that. Like, I'm saying no to free salad all summer, yeah right. When I tossed the poppies I replaced them with geraniums, and they seem okay for now. The rest of the garden, is well established and doing fine. These seedlings though, giving me all kinds of emotions.
