I've recorded a #poetry reading of Strathallan's Lament for Burns Night.
It was written about Culloden but speaks to me about the state of the #ScottishIndependence movement at the moment.

After the last decade of dependence, missed opportunities and betrayal, here's a short extract from Lockhart of Carnwath's memoirs of the Union. It was Lockhart who named and shamed Burns' Parcel of Rogues, and uncovered the mostly quite paltry amounts they received for selling out Scotland.
Here he speaks of one of the principal villains, the Earl of Stair.
Very little has changed in the last 300+ years.
