So many items are packed in plastic that even if you are doing your best to avoid plastic, you end up with plenty of it. A block of cheddar cheese comes wrapped in plastic, lettuce is wrapped in plastic, or comes in a clamshell. A jacket you ordered, or a headlight for your bike—everything comes in plastic!

But my new Nike swimsuit arrived today in a BOX. I looked at it in disbelief! The box was in a plastic mailer bag, but that was it—no plastic beyond that.
