And now it did something entirely now. It now wrote incorrect data to the chip. Not failed to write, not wrote the correct data. IT wrote garbage.
It wrote:
0020 2024 2520 576F 726C 6421 2100 0000
Instead of:
3132 3334 3520 576F 726C 6421 2100 0000
And now BOTH programmers work CONSISTENTLY. Regardless if I use the IC-Clip or the socket.

So now I feel really pranked.
Used the very first #ISPprogrammer again now - you know the one that didn't even detect the chip before and why I bought this new one. (ok, this time it is a chip that isn't in a circuit, but still wtf)
Well it kinda worked. It wrote the data to the chip. It read it back successfully but it still showed an error message that it failed?!?
The EZP2023 for some reason didn't want to do this chip at all.
