It turns out I'm one of only a few people who are using the #znc #irc bouncer at work. As a result I'm looking for hosted bouncers. So far I've found #irccloud and #irctoday. Are there any other hosted options I should look at? I'm tempted by irccloud if the #slack integration works because like it or not its where the corporate stuff happens.
@laloica @icaria36 buenas noticias, #irc sigue funcionando y no es dificil acceder. Puedes elegir un cliente y configurarlo o usar en linea sin instalación. Tambien hay apps libres para usarlo.

RIP my IRCCloud subscription. Great service, nothing to complain about it. They've been driving IRCv3 forwards and it even supports Slack. But my IRC channels are so dead that it was difficult to convince myself why I should pay to have a hosted client.
For now, I'm running The Lounge on my own server so I can join those couple of channels where ~5 old timers repeat the same jokes with months of silence in between. Peak IRC experience.

There is a head-spinning amount of IRC news to share again. The big ticket item for this season is the release of InspIRCd v4.0.0 server software after five years of development. They have a nice overview of the biggest changes. Protocol specifications A work-in-progress REDACT command was added, to be used for moderation and retracting accidentally sent messages among other things. Documentation Modern IRC Client Protocol docs received updates and clarifications related to KICK, TOPIC and CHANTYPES.
