In a post on X, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that any return to the battlefield would bring far greater surprises for Washington, citing US congressional admissions of losing dozens of aircraft worth billions of dollars, including the F-35, during the war on Iran.

On Friday, May 08, while American naval forces were attempting to withdraw three of their destroyers, which had violated maritime law with aerial support from the Strait of Hormuz towards the Sea of Oman, the naval forces of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran carried out a joint missile and drone operation against this naval group using 8 cruise missiles and 24 suicide drones.
As a result of this operation, and despite intensive attempts by American naval forces to repel the attack, one cruise missile and three suicide drones successfully struck the American destroyers.

An Ohio Air National Guard KC-135R Stratotanker, damaged in an Iranian ballistic missile strike on Prince Sultan Air Base, arrived today at RAF Mildenhall for repairs.
The aircraft bears visible shrapnel damage, with patchwork covering multiple sections of the airframe. In the same attack, the U.S. Air Force reportedly lost two KC-135Rs, one KC-46A Pegasus, and one E-3G Sentry at Prince Sultan Air Base.
