In somewhat positive personal news today, the #invalidity inspection for our #MECFS went over pretty well:

• The inspecting doctor actually knew what ME/CFS is and acted accordingly – alongside interactions with our current neurologist, this was the most accomodating and validating experience I’ve ever had with any medical personelª.
• Knowing that these inspections are always about appearances I had made sure to bring all of our regular aids along: The earplugs, the very strong darkening glasses and – drawing extra curiousity – the sitting stick (very handy). I had also praticed telling the story: In my previous ~8 interactions with different doctors, it became quite apparent that being able to tell the “sob story” well is something that many doctors put an disproportionate amount of emphasis in. (Greetings to the internist who lashed out at me for peeking at my notes on our exact list of symptoms!) – worked well, I think!

ªAnd sure better, than well I treat our sick body a lot of times...
