When a warship becomes a DDoS weapon: HMAS Canberra's radar inadvertently knocked NZ offline, exposing vulnerabilities in shared spectrum infrastructure. Military-grade interference triggered safety protocols in 5GHz devices across North & South islands. The incident highlights the urgent need for cross-sector coordination between defense & telecoms to prevent accidental outages in our increasingly connected world. #CyberPhysicalRisks #InfrastructurePolicy

“Just building more by eliminating regulations is not the silver bullet. ‘Abundance’ without an eye for who the abundance serves runs the risk of exacerbating the problem at the core of our economic challenges—the hoarding of power and wealth by the people that already have a lot of, well, abundance.”

“If we are going to facilitate the addition of a million new homes in a given region, we also must provide hospitals, schools, public safety, sanitation, and an adequate water supply. Biden administration proposes rule for workplaces to address excessive heat

President Joe Biden's administration is proposing a rule aimed at addressing excessive heat in the workplace, as tens of millions of people in the U.S. are under heat advisories due to blistering temperatures. If finalized, the measure unveiled Tuesday by the Democratic president would protect an estimated 36 million U.S. workers from injuries related to heat exposure on the job — establishing the first major federal safety standard of its kind. Those affected by excessive heat in the workplace include farmworkers, delivery and construction workers, landscapers, gardeners and workers in warehouses, factories and kitchens.
