One of the great financial scam comedy films of all time is on again on TCM: Hot Millions by and starring Peter Ustinov and Maggie Smith. Embezzling, computers, fraudulent shell companies with doors embellished with the names of well known composers (for example, Claude Debussy in the Paris vignette). Bob Newhart is the nerd who thinks he’s hep to the embezzler’s scheme. Perfect antidote to the embarrassing fraud going on in DC.

Always a delight to watch Hot Millions with comedians and comic actors on #TCM Peter Ustinov plays an embezzler who joinsTa-Can-Co, a computer finance firm from Tacoma WA with a London office. His pill popping boss is Karl Malden, rival is Bob Newhart and sweetheart/partner in crime Maggie Smith. Cameos with Caesar Romero, Robert Morley, and since this is a 1968 film, the [Beatles’] Apple Store where Smith gets 2 trendy tunics and beads.
