Platform Bar
Off to the Platform Bar shortly for the regular end-of-month folk(ish) night, tonight featuring Andy Fraser as well as the usual Platform Bar House Band.
Also, possibly the best-kept real ale in Hexham. Hydration is important!

Making Waves 🌊
Another little peek at the new collection which will be in the shop tomorrow.
Well, once I've 'de-Springed' the window and rearranged the displays (so in other words, expect a little bit of chaos in the meantime!).
I had a little try on of this silver wave necklace earlier, and it's definitely going to be one of my picks for the summer.

I've loved working on this collection and can't wait to share the whole thing with you tomorrow (though if you head to my Instagram stories you'll find a little sneaky peek over there 😘).

Newness incoming…
Just putting the finishing touches to my new collection for summer, inspired by beachy holidays. Launching on Friday, perfectly timed to celebrate my 2nd birthday this weekend! 🌊
Another capture from a walkabout around the historic Northumberland market town of Hexham on Sunday.
Coinciding with the date of this year's summer solstice and appropriately enough, the season was kicking off in fine style with lots of lovely warm sunshine.
Centre stage in this composition is Hexham Abbey Church, dedicated to St Andrew, it was originally a monastery founded by St Wilfrid in 674.
Must admit, I've never photographed it from this angle before, but I definitely like the viewpoint with it bathed in the afternoon sunlight.
The fascinating crypt that was part of the original monastery still survives, incorporating stones taken from nearby Roman ruins, most likely at Corbridge and nearby Hadrian's Wall, it is definitely worth a look.

On the longest day of the year (in the Northern Hemisphere), I visited Hexham, Northumberland in NE England.
I was last here in 2024 and wanted to take a photograph from this spot with this covered alleyway that leads from the town's Market Place into St Mary's Chare. Unfortunately, there was some building work taking place with scaffolding spoiling the view. I made a mental note that on my next visit I would try again.
Better luck this time around and particularly pleased with the view from the alleyway and the way it frames the view.
The spot where I was standing to take this photograph was the site of Hexham’s original St Mary’s Church, a medieval structure built in the 13th century on the site of a Saxon predecessor.
