Hayashi rice (ハヤシライス) is a popular Western-style dish of beef, onions and button mushrooms covered in a thick demi-glace sauce. It's mostly unknown in Western countries🤔

The meal originated in the mining town of Ikuno (生野) in Hyōgo Prefecture, but was perfected by a French engineer working there in 1868.
