#EileenGu from #SF skiing for #China not the #USA qualified in 2nd place in the Women's #Slopestyle earlier today after falling in the 1st of her 2 qualifying runs. Eileen won the Silver Medal in this event in 2022.

There is a lot of mystery surrounding Gu's birth & citizenship.

Her father has never been identified by her or her mother & has only been identified as an "American" & #Harvard grad but given her physical appearance her father was probably white. So, she's most likely #Happa. Nothing wrong with that but it's curious why the identity of Gu's father has never been revealed or discussed.

Extraordinarily, while Gu was born, raised & primarily lives in the US but she was granted permanent residency in China in order to allow her to compete for China in the Olympics & other events. A special rule was passed in China in 2020 that allowed this to be done. Why & how this was achieved also has not been revealed or discussed. 🤷

@mookie I've watched #TheDayAfterTomorrow more times than I can count. 🤷‍♂️

It's right up there with #2012 (2009) . 😉

But for some reason, still can't stop watching it even if #DennisQuaid is a #MAGA a$$hole, which makes me sad because #TheRookie (2002) is one of my favorite #baseball #movies too. ☹️

And the thing is, he made a movie about the #Japanese #internment too -- #ComeSeeTheParadise (1990) with #TamilynTomita (who also plays a bit part in The Day After Tomorrow) in which he tries to reunite with his #JapaneseAmerican wife & #Happa daughter while they are still imprisoned in a camp.

So, I really don't get what happened to #Quaid to make him a MAGA & #Drumpf supporter. 🤦‍♂️

#ArthurLiu, #AlysaLiu's father, a #lawyer, is a fascinating character, who's story has yet to be fully told.

Alysa is obviously #Happa but Arthur didn't have a white wife or lover. He used an egg donor & a surrogate mother to have Alysa & presumably her 4 siblings.

Arthur apparently was a #Chinese dissident who fled #China in 1989 after the #TiananmenSquare incident & who rebuffed efforts by the #CCP to recruit Alysa to compete for China when it because apparent she was Olympic material.

I want to know more about Arthur!
