Three months into a NextJS project, and it still feels like I’m trying to write code with kiddie gloves on. Like, I can see why it appeals to folk, but it still feels like I’m spending far too much time Googling how to do simple stuff that would otherwise take a line or two of vanilla JS.

(and yes: as with any other platform/framework/etc, the more I use it the more familiar I will get. Or I could, y’know, take the damn gloves off and write proper code…)

Aaand, a 3 hour meeting where I have to sit through more AI promises that I don't need. I'm already using AI to read your shitty inaccessible slides telling me about the eventual benefits of AI to me. Piss off.

I've always taken pride in helping someone who has asked for my help as best and as quickly as I can. I just wish the same people would reciprocate when I ask in return.

I refuse to call these folks mechanics.
