No.817: 'Love Goddesses Of Blood Island' (aka Six She's And A He) is an early gore flick released the same year as Herschel Gordon Lewis's 'Blood Feast'. Once considered a lost movie, an astronaut is marooned on a Pacific island where he is fed, shaved and enslaved by six bikini-clad misandrists.
That's it for the plot because most of the short run-time is taken up by scenes of the women dancing in an oversized paddling pool.
This was the only film directed by Richard S Flink and it was such a flop that it drove him to bankruptcy. Taking writing duties was William Kerwin who also gave the world 'Sting Of Death'.
Aside from being boring, repetitive and very poorly acted, there's something just plain baffling about this film. How or why anyone involved thought that this was worthy of release is astonishing.

No.809: 'Helldriver' is a J-Splatter zombie flick from the crown-prince of the genre, Yoshihiro Nishimura. A cannibalistic serial killer is struck by a meteorite shortly after eating her husband's legs. This transforms her into a zombie queen and also releases a mist which turns 6 million people into zombies.
There's a surprisingly thoughtful sub-plot about zombie rights and legions of rampaging undead causing a refugee crisis along with a food and hosting shortage. However, that's just fluff really because the meat(!) of the thing is absurd action, gallons of blood and a lot of very improbable physics. This is a movie which features a jumbo jet made of zombies, powdered by two missiles. Yes, the overall joke is definitely stretched too far but it's hard to criticise a film bursting with so many original ideas.
