As a rule with very few exceptions, I dislike the #Fantasy genre entirely, but what I dislike most about it is #Magic
It doesnβt matter how high the cost is for using it, what rules are imposed on its practice, what efforts are made to rationalize it just the right amount for the sake of fictional realismβit never works, it never can be made to work
To spell out the painfully self-evident for the sake of emphasis: the concept is inherently irrational, and more importantly, defies rationalization by contradiction
