Ohhh okay, so #FuralityUltra is late 2000's gaming culture themed. 2006-2009 timeframe. Basically the idea is the con is the final weekend for the online services for a fictional game console that's totally not an Xbox 360 analogue before it shuts down.

Ah yeah after digging deeper, @furality.org is gonna be a hard no this year. They did add a second age verification provider, Yoti, but an ID scan and selfie are still required either way. I will not risk identity theft for an online furcon, full stop. VERY disappointed.

Actually what even IS the theme this year? Neither their website nor their Bluesky have any real info about it - just a style guide that makes it look like gamer/candy raver, but Wikifur says it's supposed to be Y2K/2000's inspired? I am confusion.

Trying to decide if I wanna do #Furality this year... The theme is kinda boring and not really tickling my imagination like last year... and plus I *really* don't want to dox myself due to their new age verification requirement either. Which sucks because I *LOVED* Somna.

The age verification for Furality through Yoti has been activated and... yeah, I don't think this will happen for me this year. Besides the point that it was a pain is the ass to setup due to several problems that I had, my biggest problem is that I just don't look like I do on my ID any more. Go figure, losing 30 kilos and starting feminising hormones makes you look differently. 🙄 Since I only get my new ID after Furality I don't think it will be possible for me to attend, which is kind of shit.

Hopefully I can at least get a refund, since it said something about that if age verification fails.

I check my profile on the Furality website regularly in case something changed and every time I go there I pet FYNN a couple of times. Well, apparently I did this now over a hundred times since I got a popup notifying me about this on the site. Please don't call me out like that!
