Protesters stop logging at Doubleduke

The latest in a series of actions to save trees and habitat, native forest logging has been halted this morning by protests in Doubleduke state forest, between Grafton and Casino.

The Echo
For #thicktrunktuesday, here's a hollow tree I was fortunate to climb in wet eucalypt forest on the slopes of the Wollumbin caldera on Bundjalung country. I was helping #wildlifesafehavens install a camera about 30m up to monitor the entrance, in which you can see some giveaway signs of past use.
Hollow trees are normal habitat for many endangered animals in Australia, but are still disappearing rapidly to timber extraction in NSW by #forestcorpse in spite of efforts to protect and expand existing habitat.
